May 05, 2010 I don't know if this is just the RA in full swing, or if it is a side effect of the Plaquenil. I have been running a low-grade fever around 99.8 for about. a week and a half now. It comes & goes and I can tell when it is up because I feel hot. My normal body temperature is low, around 97.5, so I don't know if 99.8 would be considered a fever. Apr 10, 2019 Plaquenil is sometimes given only once per week. Choose the same day each week to take this medicine if you are on a weekly dosing schedule. Take Plaquenil with a meal or a glass of milk. To prevent malaria Start taking Plaquenil 2 weeks before entering an area where malaria is common. Continue taking the medicine regularly during your stay. Jan 11, 2012 About a week after I stopped taking it I had a wicked flare. Fever, more neurological symptoms, totally wiped out, and horrible joint pain. It's been a little over a week since I started again and I actually managed to finally get Christmas down AND cook dinner. Wow, right? I can't say for sure it was the plaquenil, but it does make me hopeful.
