I can't take Plaquenil during the day due to its side effects so taking it at dinner lets me sleep away the side effects like headache. Plaquenil makes me feel like my stomach is turning inside out and I swear I can feel it heating up the blood in my veins. I felt hypoglycemic when I took it without food or with just light carbs. So back to the Sjogren's World Forums participant this person noticed that after beginning to take Plaquenil, it became more difficult to keep her diabetes in control occasionally her blood sugar became too low and she had symptoms of hypoglycemia feeling very anxious, tremor, feeling suddenly very hungry, perspiring heavily, and feeling faint. Several others chimed in, many of whom were not diabetic, and said that they noticed the same thing. Plaquenil and hypoglycemia? Has anyone experienced this side effect? Newly diagnosed with early RA, rheumatologist started me on 200mg Plaquenil 1x/day for first two weeks, going up to 2x/day after two weeks.
