    Methotrexate vs plaquenil reddit

Yesterday my rheumatologist started me on hydroxychloroquine as well. Is anyone else on this combination and have you had any problems with it as I know hydroxychloroquine can cause eye sight problems.

Patients whose arthritis is poorly controlled with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs NSAIDs, low doses of steroids and Plaquenil hydroxychloroquine are often managed with methotrexate. Methotrexate is usually taken just once a week in tablet form. Some patients take it as a weekly injection. With both drugs you would need regular blood tests to monitor various blood counts as well as liver function. Plaquenil vs Methotrexate I was diagnosed with RA a month ago and am returning to my Rheumatologist tomorrow to discuss treatment options. The doctor said that given where I am right now constant low level pain and light swelling of my hands and wrists but no joint damage showing up on xrays or the ultrasound, she gave me a choice of starting.

Recently my eyes have felt sore and, after posting a question on this site, I am seeing my GP on Monday. Thanks Hi Catjones I have been taking this combination, started on both of them in January this year.

I’ve never been on methotrexate but I was on Cellcept for a few years. For me it was a wonder drug that put me into remission and I had no serious side effects—none at all that I remember actually. I was able to go off of it and have only been on Plaquenil for years now with prednisone on occasion if I start to flare. Compare Methotrexate head-to-head with other drugs for uses, ratings, cost, side effects, interactions and more. Methotrexate rated 6.7/10 in overall patient satisfaction. Methotrexate Compared to Alternatives - I was told to give any new medication 12 weeks to start working. Unfortunately Methotrexate on its own didn’t help me, so now I’m on that along with Sulfazalazine? plaquenil, Methotrexate and Entracept injections. The Methotrexate makes me ill, but apparently it works alongside the biologics so I can’t stop it. Hope you get some relief.
